» XDCC Browser v4.41 [360.74KiB] by Yochai.
Author's Description:
An easy to use XDCC Browser. This addon will list all the XDCC ads for you, and put them nicely in a dialog. You could search these ads, and request them. And there's a good requesting system, so you can rejoin people in different servers, and resume the request from them. And of course you can request more then one XDCC from every user, and it will download them in the order you want.
This script supports multi servers, and multi mIRC windows via DDE ... so if you have a script that also uses it's own DDE then it might have some problems...
This script supports every XDCC script and advertisement.
There's also an option for online search that searches in XDCC search pages.

Admin note: XDCC Scripts are no longer supported by mIRC.net, however, existing projects will remain. mIRC is not a file sharing program, and mIRC.net will not support users who wish to use it for that (often illegal/immoral) purpose.
Compatible with: mIRC 6.35 to 6.35

Yochai

invision 2.0 b3515 is very unstable (or so I've heard) and doesn't work well with mIRC version 6.16.
I've heard that they're advising users to use mIRC v6.15 for that version of invision.
So I don't really know if it's what causing your problems, and XDCCb won't work on mIRC 6.15

postRe: XDCC Browser v3.35 file server prob [reply to Colonski]reply reply
Yochai

Well, there could be 2 reasons.

1. It's not a regular mIRC file server, that gives out the usuall mIRC introductions like version etc.. \
2. You have other scripts runnning that perform their tasks before this script does, and thus not allowing it to operate.

The sconed option could be avoided by just putting this addon at the top of the script list:

ALT + R (Remotes) > File > Order > and then move xdccb.mrc to the top.

This script is built as an addon so it won't interfere with other scripts you may have on, BUT other full scripts don't always take in consideration that you may want to put some addons to your sccript.

Open XDCCb.mrc with notepad. Then look for btrunc
In each of these lines it is something like: btrucn $filename
You need to change it to btrunc " $+ $filename $+ "
Or you can also change it to: btrunc $+(",$filename,")

Save the file and reload it if mIRC is currently working.

I think that should fix the problem you have.

When you manually request a pack that is already in the Browser request queue, can you check and if it is already in the queue, request it again, and not duplicate the entry?

Hi Yochai!
Thereīs another potential improvement for the next version of XDCCB:

On some networks it is required to have a registered nick for downloading something. If the message "You must identify to a registered nick to private message bot-xy" appears in status, could XDCCB register or identify the current nick, store in a database, and then request the file again.

Hi Yochai, iīve a little question:

When i request something (manually) there is an entry like this in the request section: "Requesting Pack no. 2" or something else.

It would be nice, if it could be changed later. Iīm requesting many things manually, and a few hours later i donīt know what Pack no. 2 from Bot XXX really is...

thanks :)

After the user lists his packs in the channel, and they are stored in the script's database, then it should automatically change the "Requesting pack no. x" line to the actuall packet name.

This function is not working. When the bot lists his packs in the channel, the browser changes NOT the manual entries. When i select the bot directly from list i can see the real filenames via the "Get Pack" function, but also they donīt replace the "requesting pack no. x"

EDIT:

One question: Is it possible to speed up loading time from your browser? Especially when connected to Rizon or more than one network at a time, it needs 20secs and more to load, sort lists, etc.

Changes your XDCC Browser mIRCīs  DCC Autoget feature?

My settings are Auto-get file and resume if file already exist. DCC Ignore is also disabled, and turns NOT on after some time. When i come back home there are many timed out downloads, cos DCC Autoget is disabled.

Is there a way to override or enable this forever and all time?? :o)

Ok, best thing to do is go manually to mIRC's options and change the options as following:

Options > DCC : Auto get & minimze ... If File exists > Resume

Options > DCC > Ignore : Don't keep it disabled, check the "Ignore only" option, and add or remove the file types you want to ignore (I would suggest to leave it as it is.)

How the hell can I prevent this thing from popping up when I connect to an fserve, and from closing the fserve's own window when I angrily close the XDCCBrowser window which obstructs my view of the actual fserve? I looked through the options to find anything to disable this horrible, infuriating behavior, but I found nothing.

I like the fact that this script grabs and remembers fserve triggers, etc., from channels, but I can't stand it pushing in my face when I type a trigger and connect to an fserve. When I choose to manually connect to someone's fserve, I WANT TO OPERATE THERE MANUALLY!

Edit: another "why the hell": why when I paste a "/ctcp" line somewhere, this damn script doesn't even show it, and instead displays a stupid "Requesting pack X from Y" in the main window? I just got kicked off the network for flood because of this idiotic "feature" because I thought my keyboard was stuck when I didn't see anything after pressing Ctrl-V, and I kept pressing it... Damn, I've been using this script for 30 minutes and I already hate it with a passion.

Instead of a "join all" it would be nice with a "join all you are not connected to" button. This would also help avoid unintentional clones. When you have a ton of channels and networks its a real bother to "join selected"...

hi yochai, i have a feature request:-

would it be possible for the script to link xdcc pack requests, so that if a bot went offline then it would then start requesting the same pack from the next available bot?.

the reason i ask is that i find i have to request the same pack from at least 2 bots to try and improve my chances of getting the complete pack before the bot goes offline, however this means im using twice as much bandwidth, if you could link requested packs that would be brilliant!!.

Unless you can verify that the file on the other bot is exactly the same, you should not do that.
The risk of getting corrupted files is to big. 1 byte different is enough for a whole corrupted file.

Hi, your script is one of the best ive seen till now.
But there is one thing I miss in the search part.
When im searching on packetnews, I find the recordspeed of the bots a very important factor for choosing wich bot to download from. Could you add that to the search function? Also in the bot listing this would be very nice.

Thanks

I have an idea for a feature request.

The feature is in the "Request pack number..." option, if itīs possible it would be great if you can improve this option to do it for "Request from pack nš...to pack nš..." putting some kind of random description or something. It would be very useful when you want to request a great number of packs (the bot/fserve donīt list them so you have to put them manually) so you donīt have to put all numbers manually. I hope i have explained it clearly Yochai, please excuse my bad english (spanish here hehehe).

Great work with the addon, itīs the best. Keep it up man!!!

Ok I never had this problem downlaoding more than one file at a time. I could download 3, 4 or even 5 files downloading at the same time, Then one day I upgraded my addon "XDCC Browser" from version 3.12 to 3.32. Then I kept switching between old version 3.12, 3.2  and 3.32. After few day out of the blue i could only download one file at a time, althought there were couple of files in the queue. So whichever file starts downloading first, it downloads fine and then when the next file is also ready to download it will try to establish connection and then it'll say "connection failed" so i tried everything, uninstalled mirc, removed the mirc folder from program files  and installed mirc again and still the problem persist.

Also I noticed in the DCC option it has an opition of punching in the number of maximun sends, but i can't seem to find an option where i can set or see number of gets.

Can someone here help me resolve this issue, perhaps you Yochai. Please help, any help in this regard is appreciated.

(F.Y.I I have Windows Xp Pro and SP2, i also tried disabelling my windows firewall still problem persist, i have a feeling these version are conflicting, i deleted all the old ones now and just now downloaded 3.34 and see if it works out, I'll let you know.)

Thanks,
Nada.

Yochai

The script only downloads one pack at a time per user.
This is so it can keep better track of the downloading order, because there is no other way of knowing what file you're downloading because the file names usually don't match the pakcet description.
But that won't interfere with your client to establish a connection.
I can only advise you in increasing the  "Getfail timer" in the options tab ( to about 280), so the script will wait a bit before requesting the packet again (so the bot  will have timer to close the connection on his side)

BTW,  there's no option in mIRC to set a maximum number of recieving files, or their max speed.

Hey Yochai!

I've been using your script for quite sometime now! Excellent!

I was wondering.. is it possible to add something to the script that moves fully completed files to another folder e.g. Download\Done\ ... it would save me a lot of time having to compare my Request list to my download folder to see whats gone or have to look through the DCC_Info list that Invision makes of what failed/completed. I don't know how easy/hard to do such a thing would be or if other people would want such a feature.. :) Just a suggestion! ;)

Keep up the great work :)

Well, it's a simple event that controls that, so I never added it to the script.
Just add this to the remotes:
on *:filercvd:*: rename $filename C:\download\Done $+ $nopath($filename)

I made a new .mrc file called 'done.mrc' with Notepad with the following line in it:

on *:filercvd:*: rename $filename $getdir\done\ $+ $nopath($filename)

Put the .mrc file you create somewhere in your mIRC directory, then load it into the Remotes tab in the script editor (like you do with XDCC Browser). That seems to work fine for me anyway ;-)

That line above is a bit different to Yochai's and will move the files to a 'done' folder in whatever your default download directory is set to, e.g. C:\mIRC\download\done\ if you have it set to download to the default 'download' folder that mIRC uses.

Hope that makes sense and helps a bit!

Yochai,

Unbelievable script!!!! Used it for a long time.

I have noticed a problem with the most recent version though that I cannot get past.

When I search packetnews, my results appear fine.  Pointing the results shows the command that will be sent. They ALL start with "  /ctcp ..... ".  This is true even though I have selected /msg  as the default request type.

Only way around is to add the item without requesting. Then, from the Request tab, a double click does the /msg instaed of the /ctcp!

Thanks and keep up EXCELLENT work!!

The command you see in the search tab is the command given by the site, it has nothing to do with your default settings.
Because we're hoping the site knows what it's doing that should be the correct request line with the correct request type.

roglong said:

That shouldn't be true (and it isn't cause I checked it myself).
When you request a pack from the search list it automatically stores the line given to you by the site (The one you see when you put the mouse over the line).
And the script always uses the stored usage lines before the default.
The default /msg or /ctcp works only if there's no stored line, and this is because the script can detect the user's default line when he gives you the example in the channel in the end of the packet listing. And that's always more relayable then using a default requesting command for all the bots.

Thanks for a fantastic script!

One problem: I can't "Search in" Packetnews.  (I can "Search in" Local List totally OK )

In the Browser dialog search pane, I choose Packetnews in the "Search in" dropdown. I write some text (eg. "darko" or "the" or anything really) in the textbox and press the Search button.
At the bottom the Listing status says "Searching..." for about 2 seconds and then says "Done". But it always says "0 Results" and the results table is always empty, no matter what text I enter.

I can just make out some other text (an error message?) flickering between the "Searching..." and the "Done" but can't read it.
It's always been the same behaviour since I first started using your excellent script. I have installed the past 6 versions and always hoped this Search feature would work, but no :(

Any ideas?

Like the add-on very much, but one thing is anoying me...
Hope you can fix it in the future...

* When I have a bot with packets on it, the sorting is not the right way...
Example: A bot with 12 packets on it...results in this way...
* 1,10,11,12,2,3, etc
and it should be... 1,2,3,4,5,etc

Great job as usual with this addon - its come a long way since i started using it back in 2.something.  One thing I might suggest as a future feature is the ability to resize the browser window, or even just the ability to resize the text.  Even though I have to squint a little bit at it, this is the best addon I've ever used.  Keep up the good work Yochai!

I gots ta do it.

Ok, this usually hapens when you request from internet search results.
It happens because the site's bot (Either packetnews or any other site) gets a certain Network name when it scans for packs, but it doesn't always match the actuall network name the servers gives you.
So sometimes the site you searched in gives you network Blah but when you conenct the server shows network Blah-network, which looks the same but isn't really... Or sometimes the results are completely different.
So in result the script tries to connect to the server, but gets a different network name.
Anyway, if you see that network that the user's on isn't the same as the network name given in the status window, then you can change it in the XDCCgets.ini file (Under the nicknames you'll find the network and channel they're on).

Replace Line from this:
  if (%comchan) && (%new-pack) && (%scid) {scid -t1 %scid $+(/.TimerXdccb-,%user) 1 5 XDCCb-request-Pack %user $+($chr(35),$right($readiniwm(xdccgets.ini,%nick,Pack* ,%get).sec,-4)) %scid %network %new-pack

To this:

  if (%comchan) && (%new-pack) && (%scid) scid -t1 %scid $+(/.TimerXdccb-,%user) 1 5 XDCCb-request-Pack %user $+($chr(35),$right($readiniwm(xdccgets.ini,%nick,Pack* ,%get).sec,-4)) %scid %network %new-pack

I didn’t have any problem with it … until now

When I start mIRC and I load XDCC Browser 3.32 mIRC hangs.
I can’t do nothing else but closing it.

I’ve tried reinstalling mIRC and XDCC Browser but the problem is still there.

It worked perfectly until now, and the only thing I did was uninstalling that resource hogster that is Norton AV2005

Atfer a while the xdccgets file grows to a large file by itself! It replicates xdcc packets over and over again and then when the file is too large Mirc Crashes? You can load Mirc back up but XdccBrowser will longer load and keeps crashing Mirc until you manually delete the replicated pack(s) from the xdccgets file.  Never had this problem with v3.31! The problem might have been in previous versions but I never came across the problem.

Hopefully you will fix this new problem with the next release and thanks for fixing the PacketNews problem...

weird... Never encountered that problem.
Did you recognize a patern ? or a reason for that happening ?
Maybe you chose some new option that caused it to start doing it ?
Anyway, if you can, maybe send the .ini file for me to look at.

You can use the search feature to search the local list for what ever you want....
making a filter that works when the script searches for XDCC packets will cause mIRC to use up to much of the Computer's resources....

This thing is -snip- up, using Ircspy, it won't request -snip- all. I have to change the command in the clipboard to /msg format for my downloads to start. why even use this addon when I have to do that? Also, even when it's downloading it -snip- still says it's requesting the file. Anyone else experience this -snip-?

hi yochai!, firstly great addon!, very impressive!, i do have some suggestions though that could make this script even better!:-

1/ option to cancel download if below a particular download speed threshhold and remove the request from the queue.

reason - useful incase you are download from a extremely slow bot and it would take a long time to complete the download, also would remove all slow bots from being requested again.

2/ option to remove ALL requests with a single click and not to have to click on each network.

reason - useful for clearing out all requests once you have downloaded the pack and no longer wish to have it requested.

3/ option to group requests so that once the pack has been downloaded, not only does it remove it from the request queue for that particular bot, but it removes the requested pack from all bots with that pack name.

reason - useful to stop multiple download from different bots from happening even though you already have a completed download of the file.

Let me know what you think to my suggestions, and once again, superb addon, keep it up!!.

Is it possible to implement a filter function so certain packs are not added to the list. Then it would easier for me to browse the packets and I won't see those that I don't want.

There will be an option to auto-save lists in the new v3.22 version

and for siulung > make sure the on load event loads so it sets up the options..
Type this: /remote on
and then this: /Events on
This will make sure that event loads, then load the xdccb.mrc file again, and if you are asked if you want to allow the intializing commands, just say yes

Hi Yochai, I'm a downloader so basically I just stay idle on more than 5 servers or 27 channels and your addon works great for that....But some channel contain bots that does not xdcc list publically or only post their list using .txt or webpage, so whenever I do a Add Pack Number it will request the pack number I want but it keeps requesting the same pack number again and again, so can you make it so that it will auto delete and move onto the next the pack numbers when you manually add them?

Just found this great script, but I wonder if it could be considered adding to the status listing slots and queue status and at least recording transfer rate. It could be very usefull. And.. also add this information in the search dialog for both local and external searches.

The loop that lists the packs in the window can be tough for some systems... When there are a lot of packets it takes more time (Same reason Your excplorer can take some time when opening a directory with 5000 files in it)

first i want to say your program is awesome but howmany packets is it able to store before it starts freezing because i'm only connected to one network with over 5,000 packets but when i go to talk in a room and come back to search some packets, the software starts to for about 10 seconds freeze and then it works again, and then it'll freeze again if i click on a tab

I'VE FOUND A BUG.  After searching for a pack with the builtin search with Packetnews, I would double click on a packet and it would ask if I want to join the channel.  I join but sometimes XDCC Browser doesn't send the request once inside the channel.  This seems to be caused by the fact that the search result lists one address for the server and once you've actually joined, you've been redirected to another address for the same server.

Both options are already available. The first thingie, to remove people who quit, just click on the "Auto delete packs on quit/part" option in the options tab. For the seconed option, you can save the list to a log file by clicking on "XDCC LIST" > SAVE .... Then you can load the list whenever you like

hi VERY nice addon , i was wondering if you could make it so the people who quit or xdcc stops working will be taken off the list like an hourly check , and also is there a way for it to post the xdcc lists to a log files every time a new xdcc is added , but at the same time not keeping those who quit or stop xdcc in the log file , like refreshing itself so to keep the packs updated. that would be more than great if possible. thanks a bunch again

3 functions i'd appreciate-  1: setting to alter the time before it retries the dcc (wouldn't want to hammer a server)  2: a checkbox to not delete info from disconnected/reconnected bots, and 3: a place to store/type the real dcc send command.  Not all use /ctcp or /msg xddc send.. some alter (change) them. - Otherwise this is fantastic.

You can never tell if the users are "Real" or Bots... so it just lists everything.  And about the xdcc list, it doesn't work cause alot of XDCC scripts don't support it, or the bots just turn it off cause it can flood them out.
